Get a real taste of Barcelona.

For the Spanish, tapas is more than just a way of eating, it's a way of life. Eating tapas is a wonderfully chaotic, social and lively experience, one that speaks as much to the culture of the eaters as to the ingredients being eaten.

This Tour tries to show you the real Barcelona, seen through its different neighbourhoods, with each their own identity and characteristics… and give you a taste of it in a selection of our favourite non touristy Tapas Bars.

Los barrios:

“La Barceloneta” the former fisherman’s quarter, in between the harbour and the beach; “El Poble Nou”, combining old-style charm with cutting edge architecture;  “L’Eixample”, one of the first examples of modern urban planning;  “El Barri Gòtic”, the heart of the city;  “El Poble Sec”, the oldest barrio with this unique setting at the foot of the magic Montjuïc hill;  and of course the trendy “El Born”, where Via-Vespa is located.

Depending on the day, season, weather and our mood, we choose 4 Bars to taste 2 Tapas and a drink in each one.

Barcelona - Montjuïc

This tour gives you a comprehensive view of today’s Barcelona, the new and the old, a combination of the renewed seafront, the Catalan Modernism and the charming litlle streets of the Gothic quarter topped with a lovely ride along the magic Montjuïc hill enjoying the excellent views.

We start at VIA-VESPA in the trendy “Born” area and head on to the “Port Vell” harbour and Barceloneta beachside. From thereon we drive all along the renewed seaside until the “2004 Universal Forum of Cultures” area, new business and leisure hotspot. We drive through the new part of the city filled with modern architecture like Jean Nouvel’s Agbar tower (also known as the world’s biggest dildo) and go on to the Sagrada Familia to have a short photo-stop.
The tour continues through the strict grid pattern of the “Eixample”, visionary design by Cerdà, to reach the “Passeig de Gracia”, undoubtedly the most elegant and striking boulevard of the city, where we find more Gaudi’s and other Modernist masterpieces.
We arrive at the “Plaça de Catalunya” and drive down the famous “Ramblas”, where street life never stops till Barcelona’s best food market “La Boqueria”. Here we dive into the little old town streets reaching the MACBA and CCCB, a complete contrast to the old, charming character of the surrounding buildings.
We now head towards the Montjuïc hill with its exotic gardens, Olympic stadium and multiple museums to the Montjuïc Castle at the top and have another short break to enjoy the excellent views this magic hill offers, overlook the city and even the tour we just did.
Time to drive back down the hill to our base in el Born.

Barcelona - Tibidabo

On this tour we go from the lowest to the highest point of Barcelona, from the Barceloneta beach all the way up to the lungs of the city, the green Tibidabo Mountain to contemplate the Catalan capital from a distance.

From VIA-VESPA, passing by the “Port Vell” harbour, we drive to the Barceloneta beach, one of the best urban beaches in the world. We reach the 1992 Olympic Village and start our way up the city, crossing Barcelona’s diverse neighbourhoods and monuments.
Jean Nouvel’s “Torre Agbar”, “La Monumental” the last operating bullfighting arena in Catalonia, Antonio Gaudi’s world famous “Sagrada Familia” and the “Hospital de la Santa Creu i Sant Pau”, from the modernist architect Lluís Domènech i Montaner, lead us to a short visit of the “Parc Güell”, also from Gaudi, before we
hit the mountain.
A lovely ride through the “Parc de Collserola”, the largest metropolitan park in the world, takes us to the top of the “Tibidabo”, with its 512 meters the highest mountain in the “Serra de Collserola”. After Norman Foster’s “Torre de Collserola” and a great lunch (if booked) enjoying the spectacular views
over the city and the surrounding coastline, we get back on our Vespa and drive down through the “chic” uptown and reach the grid pattern of the “Eixample”.
We continue by the “Passeig de Gracia”, the most famous boulevard of Barcelona, and his “Illa de la Discòrdia”, this block so named due to the visual clash between the different Modernist masterpieces one next to the other… and head back to our base in the Princess street.

On this tour we discover the Catalan capital as a Mediterranean city, understanding its history and future. We observe together the key points with a variety of styles and ideas, colours and forms, contrasts and impressions. Not only the icons, also skyline, urban perspectives, sea and mountains, an exciting mix of new
and old, details, lifestyle and dynamics. We want to create a mosaic of colours which, like Gaudi’s banks in Parc Güell, won’t fail to surprise you...
